Programme Highlights

In our Upcycled Box Workshops, participants will be able to:

Learn about the issue of waste and how waste is managed in Singapore.
Explain what upcycling is and how it differs from recycling.
Understand the benefits that upcycling has on our environment.
Have their own hands-on experience in making an upcycled toy using boxes.

Ecoponics aims to expose participants to essential environmental education and inspire them to take action towards a more sustainable future. These workshops offer an innovative solution to the problem of single-use boxes while also promoting a sustainable way of living.

Through the Upcycled Box Workshops, participants gain knowledge and skills about

All Materials Provided & Trainers Guidance

All necessary materials and most equipment required for the workshops will be provided by Ecoponics. In addition, certified instructors and trainers guide participants through the entire process, from theory to practical application.

I'm afraid that I’m not very artistically gifted or talented. Can I still join your workshop?

You have absolutely nothing to worry about! At Ecoponics, we believe in providing an inclusive learning environment in our workshops that caters to the needs of learners of various types and paces. We are unique individuals who process information differently. Our workshops and the accompanying Powerpoint presentations have lots of visual and graphic information and illustrations to support the verbal instruction, which utilizes simple, every day language with very little to no technical jargon, as much as possible, with a mindfulness on pacing. Even if there are some scientific/environmental terms and concepts that we cannot avoid mentioning, our trainers always endeavour to explain these concepts in a way that a lay person can understand and benefit from the information. This, in fact, is one of our key strengths, and why we have been very successful at generating repeat enquiries for our workshops over the years.

Can beginners participate in your workshops, or is it better suited for more experienced crafters?

Our Upcycled Boxes Workshops are beginner-friendly and are suitable for all ages! No experience is required. Our experienced, friendly, and patient trainers are well known for their very clear, step-by-step, and well-paced guidance throughout the workshops.

How long does it typically take to complete an upcycled paper?

Our Upcycled Box Workshops can be completed within 1-1.5h, inclusive of both theory and hands-on practical experience, so it doesn’t take too long at all.

What age groups are suitable for Ecoponics' Upcycling Workshops?

The Upcycled box workshop is great for pre-teens, teenagers and adults.

Do we get to take home what we make at the workshops?

Yes, you can! You can bring your own bag to safely store your creation in as you transport it back to your home, or we can provide for you. In the spirit of environmental sustainability however, we always encourage our participants to bring their own reusable bags.
